Clarion Group, a Food Service Consulting Company, Welcomes Former IMF Chief of Hospitality Services as VP

Kingston, NH, September 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Ernest W. Wilder, former Chief of Hospitality Services at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington, DC, has joined the consulting firm Clarion Group as a vice president, Clarion president Tom Mac Dermott has announced. Mr. Wilder will lead projects that encompass corporate and university support services related to Clarion’s traditional dining services focus.

“The addition of Ernie to our team expands our scope of services to such related areas as conference management, audio/visual services and lodging services,” Mac Dermott said. “His unique experience as both a manager of hospitality services and facilities provides our clients the opportunity to improve and integrate their food, meeting, lodging and other support services.”

Mr. Wilder began his IMF employment in 1990 as a capital project manager after a 13-year career with several architectural and engineering firms. He later became Chief of Facilities and then, in 1997, Chief of Hospitality Services. In this position, he integrated management of the Fund’s dining and catering services, conferences and events management, audio/visual services and the IMF’s 177-room hotel, into a “one-stop shop” to support the highly specialized requirements of this multi-national organization.

At the IMF, he established a professional conference planning office and led efforts to install a network-based services management system that facilitated and streamlined users’ space reservations, catering and service requirements and billing. He also developed multi-year physical improvement plans for the facilities he supervised.

Mr. Wilder said his principal leadership in competitive processes for the selection of vendors for the components of Hospitality Services “allowed me to understand the interplay between institutional service requirements and contractual terms and conditions.”

Mr. Wilder is a graduate of Virginia Tech and was employed by several architectural and engineering firms before joining the IMF.
