)-- American Pride Bank, headquartered in Macon, Georgia, presented the immediate past Chairman of the Board with a resolution on August 25, 2009. W.L. Brown, Senior, immediate past Chairman, stepped down from the board when he retired from his long career in commercial banking. W.L. Brown was one of the originators of the bank and a founding member of the Board of Directors at American Pride Bank. Dilipkumar “Danny” Patel, current Chairman, presented the resolution.
Danny Patel and fellow board members created the resolution in Brown’s honor. The resolution conveys Brown’s excellent history in the Central Georgia market as a commercial banker. The resolution further demonstrates Brown’s commitment and dedication to the development and success of American Pride Bank.
Danny Patel became Chairman of the Board in May 2009 when Brown stepped down. Patel’s professional background includes real estate acquisitions, renovations, finance, construction, and design primarily in the hospitality industry.
Richard E. Cathey, President and Chief Executive Officer of American Pride Bank, was on hand during the presentation. Cathey states “W.L. has been a great source of inspiration and guidance for me and the bank as we moved from a group of investors with an idea to an actual bank.” While Brown will no longer be active on the Bank’s Board of Directors, his work is the foundation with which the Board moves forward.
