)-- On Saturday, September 26, the Almaden Valley Athletic Club® (AVAC) will open its doors from 10am to 3pm to the Bay Area community to celebrate Family Health and Fitness Day USA. The free event is designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle for families by offering physical activities and nutritional education by Whole Foods Market. Highlights include family hikes, specialty fitness classes, and health assessments including body fat testing, blood pressure screening and gait analysis. The Child Care Center will feature a carnival with face painting, silly hair-dos and a bounce house.
“AVAC continues its commitment to educating the community by identifying and localizing national issues such as childhood health and family fitness,” said Joe Shank, Owner and CEO of AVAC. “We aim to provide attendees with the tools they need to make healthy lifestyle choices such as eating mindfully, being active and fit, and spending quality time together.”
