AVAC® Celebrates Family Health and Fitness Day USA with Free Community Open House

Free Demo Classes, Health Assessments and Nutritional Tips to Encourage Healthy, Fit Families

San Jose, CA, September 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, September 26, the Almaden Valley Athletic Club® (AVAC) will open its doors from 10am to 3pm to the Bay Area community to celebrate Family Health and Fitness Day USA. The free event is designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle for families by offering physical activities and nutritional education by Whole Foods Market. Highlights include family hikes, specialty fitness classes, and health assessments including body fat testing, blood pressure screening and gait analysis. The Child Care Center will feature a carnival with face painting, silly hair-dos and a bounce house.

8:00am – Family Hike at Quicksilver Park (meet at McAbee Road entrance)
10:00am – 2:00pm: Body Fat Testing (appointment necessary)
10:00am – 2:00pm: Blood Pressure Testing (appointment necessary)
10:00am – 2:00pm: MicroFit Fitness Assessment (appointment necessary)
10:00am – 2:00pm: Personal Training (30 minute sessions)
10:00am – 10:45am: Family ZUMBA
10:00am – 10:45am: Tummies & Tushies
10:45am – 11:30am: Bollywood
11:00am – Noon: Cardio Tennis
11:00am – Noon: Pilates
11:30am – 12:15pm: ZUMBA Gold
12:30pm – 1:45pm: Yoga
1:00pm – 2:45pm: Running Gait Analysis
2:00pm- 2:45pm: Mini Soccer Boot Camp

Attendees may enter to win valuable raffle prizes that include free swim and tennis lessons and AVAC fitness memberships. Whole Foods Market will distribute specialty coupons and popchips will offer samples of its all-natural healthy snacks.
