Call for Entries Announced for 2009 Summit Emerging Media Award

The communication industry’s prestigious award seeks to honor today’s emerging media pioneers.

Portland, OR, September 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Summit International Awards (SIA) organization today announces they are now accepting entries into the 2009 Summit Emerging Media Awards (Summit EMA) competition.

Open to firms of all size it including interactive and interactive and advertising agencies, animation and web designers, freelancers, SEO firms, bloggers, multimedia producers and more. Summit EMA is devoted to providing a public spotlight for those pushing the bounds of today’s new media vehicles.

Awards will be given in seven main areas: Websites, On-line Advertising, On-line Marketing, Interactive, On-line Video, Integrated Campaign and Mobile/Wireless, and Bleeding Edge Media. Individual categories offer submissions in a variety of areas from Drip, Viral and Mashed Video Marketing to Experiential, Mobile and Interstitial Advertising.

“The Summit Emerging Media Award recognizes that our media is changing rapidly as is our industry and there is a need to reward those pushing its bounds,” said Jocelyn Luciano, executive director of the Summit International Awards organization. “Many are studying these changes and looking for the new powerful tools and avenues to conceptually reach an application to which the audience and consumer can relate. This award is for the pioneers of the bleeding edge means of modern communication.”

Judging is done by a panel of interactive and marketing professionals representing some of the top firms from around the world. Winning submissions are selected based on Method, Innovation and Information. Winning entries receive the Best of Show, Visionary, Innovator and Leader awards.

For fifteen years, the SIA organization has been recognizing and promoting companies and individuals that produce outstanding marketing, advertising design and interactive communications. It’s established itself as a premier arbiter of creative and marketing excellence. It is a truly international organization, for each year over 30 countries are represented in its competitions.

Each year the SIA organization conducts three competitions:

* Summit Emerging Media Award (EMA) - Created to identify the world's communication pioneers. Those pushing the bounds of the communication badlands. All forms of emerging media are explored, examined and awarded. Deadline, September 30, 2009.
* Summit Creative Award (SCA) - Recognizes creative excellence in companies and individuals with billing under $30 million. Includes all media and industries. Deadline in January 24, 2010.
* Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award (MEA) - A unique competitive arena where the judging criteria is based on the true purpose of marketing communications: to change, influence, and reinforce the consumer’s knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs. Creative samples and a short brief are included in the evaluation. Deadline in June 25, 2010.
