Troops Transition with Help from Congress, Spring-Green

Spring-Green Lawn Care Teams Up With Congressman Aaron Schock to Discuss Help Veterans Own Franchises Act.

Plainfield, IL, September 11, 2009 --( On Friday, September 4th, Spring-Green Lawn Care Corp. CEO Tom Hofer and Peoria Spring-Green franchisee Dave Vojta met with Congressman Aaron Schock (R-IL) for a press conference discussing the Help Veterans Own Franchises Act. The bill was introduced earlier this year in the U.S. House of Representatives by Congressmen Schock and Leonard Boswell (D-IA) to help veterans purchase small businesses.

“We were thrilled to partake in the event to show our support for veterans who are considering franchise ownership,” says Hofer. “As a retired Navy lieutenant, I know the trials and tribulations of transitioning from the military into the business world and hope to help make that transition an easier one at Spring-Green.”

In addition to their support of the Help Veterans Own Franchises Act, Spring-Green is active in the Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative, also known as VetFran, and offers a $15,000 grant called the Military Assistance Program (M.A.P.) designed to help military veterans transition into civilian life by offering financial assistance towards start-up expenses.

Founded in 1977, Spring-Green Lawn Care has been delivering both traditional and organic lawn and tree care services nationwide for over 32 years. Its service is centered on the beautification of local neighborhoods and communities with both residential and commercial customers. Spring-Green is an attractive opportunity for candidates who do not want to be tied to a storefront operation, retail hours or set appointments. Franchisees can also take advantage of Spring-Green’s innovative Flex-Start® program, which allows franchisees who open their business and operate it in a part-time capacity the first year of operation. Spring-Green currently has 120 franchises operating in 26 states and projections call for 12 new franchises in 2009. For more information about Spring-Green, visit
