ACAC Fitness & Wellness Center Raises $12,825 for Charlottesville/Albemarle Rescue Squad

Charlottesville, VA, September 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- More than 500 community members participated in ACAC Fitness & Wellness Center’s 25th anniversary fundraiser to benefit the Charlottesville/Albemarle Rescue Squad (CARS). Donations totaled $12,825.

“Both ACAC and CARS have a long-standing commitment to each other and to the community,” said Phil Wendel, ACAC owner. “It was such a wonderful way to celebrate the club’s 25th anniversary.”

The CARS fundraiser was so well-received that ACAC is now raising money for the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad (WARS).

“The men and women who work on these squads are such heroes,” said Kelly Kyriacopoulos, ACAC membership director. “With our new Crozet facility opening in Old Trail in October, we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to show our appreciation to WARS.”

ACAC will donate $25 to WARS for each new member joining ACAC’s Crozet location by October 1, 2009. ACAC Crozet will open at 1015 Heathercroft Circle in Old Trail Village this fall. The new facility will feature cardiovascular and strength equipment, group classes, child care and men’s and ladies’ locker rooms.
