Orangecast Sports Blogs Join Fantasy Sports Ventures Network

Orangecast Social Media announces that Midwest Sports Fans and Dallas Sports Fans, two of the fastest growing independently owned and operated sports blogs on the Internet, have joined the Fantasy Sports Ventures Network.

Dallas, TX, September 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Orangecast Social Media announces that their sports blogs Midwest Sports Fans and Dallas Sports Fans have joined the Fantasy Sports Ventures Network. Coming into the 2009/2010 sports season, Orangecast's sports blogs are two of the fastest growing independently owned and operated sports blogs on the Internet.

The “Fantasy Players Network” is an aggregation of over 400 leading sports-related websites that consistently places in the top 10 online sports networks, based on comScore traffic rankings. Joining the Fantasy Sports Ventures’ network will expose Orangecast a wider range of sports advertisers and increased revenue opportunities.

Midwest Sports Fans (MSF), founded and managed by Orangecast partner Jerod Morris, is currently ranked 38th out of all sports blogs according to BallHype.com. With over 135,000 visitors from August 22nd through September 21st, MSF’s traffic grew 130%, continuing its rapid rise since being launched in August of 2008.

MSF focuses on any and all sports teams and stories that are relevant to sports fans from the Midwest.

“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to partner with Fantasy Sports Ventures,” said Morris. “FSV is clearly one of the most respected and successful sports blog networks, and we look forward to being a major part of their overall traffic growth moving forward, as well as leveraging the networking, advertising, and promotional opportunities the FSV network provides.”

Orangecast added Dallas Sports Fans (DSF) in late 2008 and put considerable investment into the blog prior to start of the current college and professional football seasons. The site has seen 43% traffic growth in the last month as its focus has expanded from baseball and hockey to include in-depth coverage of the Dallas Cowboys, NFC East, and Big 12 football.

“Our goal is to be a comprehensive resource for Dallas sports news and commentary,” explained Matt Lawrence, managing editor at Orangecast. “We know that there is a wide base of Big 12 fans here in the Metroplex, so we also try to cater to this group as well.”

Based in Dallas, TX, Orangecast Social Media was founded in 2006 by ex-Microsoft employee Derick Schaefer. In addition to providing corporate social media consulting services, the firm also owns and operates a variety of online websites and blogs including DallasSportsFans.Com and MidwestSportsFans.Com. Orangecast partner Jerod Morris is a native of Indiana and has been a featured guest on ESPN’s Outside the Lines and has a weekly radio spot during which he discusses fantasy football.
