Hair Restoration Treatments Up 26 Percent Despite Difficult Economy

The Hair Restoration and Aesthetic Medicine Center of Connecticut is seeing an increase in hair restoration procedures and recent survey results show that treatments for hair loss are up 26 percent worldwide.

Hartford, CT, October 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The demand for hair restoration treatments in this difficult economy has been extraordinarily positive, according to Scott Boden, M.D. at the Hair Restoration and Aesthetic Medicine Center of Connecticut. According to the latest statistics released from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), the worldwide number of hair restoration patients treated in 2008 was approximately 811,363 – up 26 percent from 2006.

This significant increase in hair restoration patients coincides with a 12 percent jump in the total number of surgical hair restoration procedures worldwide – from 225,779 procedures in 2006 to 252,002 procedures in 2008.

Dr. Boden, a Diplomat of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery, notes that patients are enthusiastic about improving their self-image and obtaining significant permanent hair growth within six months to a year. “People are seeking ways to feel better about themselves right now,” said Dr. Boden. “Hair restoration procedures provide a more youthful appearance and today’s results offer fuller and more natural results.”
