Singapore Exhibition Services Launches Next Generation Technologies to Boost Efficiency and Safety for Asia’s Chemical Industries

CIA2009, held alongside the Industrial Bus and Wireless Technology Conference, returns as Asia’s leading event for process engineering technology & process control, automation, instrumentation, analytical & laboratory technology and services.

Singapore, Singapore, October 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Latest in process engineering, controls, instrumentation and scientific equipment on show at CIA2009.

Sizeable government stimulus packages, particularly those in Asia-Pacific countries like Australia, China, Indonesia and Korea, have driven production and consumption of consumer goods despite lows of the financial market. CIA2009, Asia’s leading process engineering, controls instrumentation and scientific equipment exhibition gathers the latest technologies and solutions that caters to industry demands to enhance product quality and expand production capacity while improving process safety and plant availability. The event boasts a 30 year track record and will return to Suntec Singapore from 1 to 4 December 2009.

CIA2009 consists of ControlsAsia2009, InstrumentAsia2009 and AnaLabAsia2009. Ongoing infrastructure developments within the energy, downstream petroleum and chemical sectors in Asia continue to be the key drivers of process technology demand on show at ControlsAsia2009 & InstrumentAsia2009. AnaLabAsia2009 brings key analytical instrumentation solutions from across the globe to the growing petrochemical, biodiesel, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries in this part of the world. Robust growth in China and other Asia Pacific areas over the last few years have contributed significantly to the US$36 billion global market for analytical instrumentation.

Strong Exhibitor Participation
Global market and technology leaders will seek to gain a larger foothold in Asia by participating in CIA2009. These include international players like Daihan, Esco, FDT, Weidmuller, GE Medical, IKA, ITS, Julabo, Merck, Metrohm, Milwaukee, PG General, Profibus, Retsch, SEAT Ventilation, Tosoh and Vector Infotech.

The Singapore pavilion, spearheaded by The Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa) and supported by IE Singapore, returns with a strong presence of 35 companies this year. The companies were able to successfully reach out to their local and regional clients at the last show and the pavilion this year will feature companies such as Boerger Pumps, Flexim, Fortuna Scientific, Intermass Fisher Asia, Techcomp, Trans Instruments, United Scientific, and ZIL SCI.

Other national and regional group pavilions returning after a good showing in 2007 include China, France, the German State of Baden Wurttemberg, Korea and the Gambica group from UK, which is expected to be represented by even more companies this year.

Debut Industry Conference to Address Process Plant Efficiency
New at CIA2009 is The Industrial Bus & Wireless Technology Conference. Designed by industry leaders for industry professionals from multiple levels within plant design and operations, the conference will address the challenges for industries to reduce carbon footprint and enable greater robustness, safety and dependability of plant operations.

The conference, which runs over two days from 3 – 4 December 2009, comprises two tracks which will run in parallel - Plant Operations & Maintenance and Control Systems & Design. Industry and technology experts will give detailed perspectives into case studies to illustrate the operational gains stemming from the efficient design of plants for long-term operability based on industrial bus technology and the deployment of wireless networking.

Special Events by Regional Industry Bodies
CIA2009 will also see prominent presence and support from well-regarded regional industry associations like CHWMEG, Japan Analytical Instruments Manufactures Association (JAIMA) and Korea Scientific Instruments Industry Cooperative (KSIIC).

The JAIMA Forum, organised by JAIMA and held in conjunction with AnaLabAsia2009 will investigate critical issue of chemical contamination of products in some Asian countries. The Forum features a lecture by Dr Koichi Chiba from the National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS), a directive adopted by the European Union in 2003. The lecture aims to increase awareness of the danger of hazardous substances being used in a broad array of consumer products today.

The Seminar on Responsible Waste Stewardship organised by CHWMEG will address the apparent lack of regulatory requirements for soil and groundwater standards in many Asian countries and how industry can benefit from regulatory schemes implemented by the USA’s CERCLA (Superfund) law. Delegates will also be introduced to the newest hazardous waste technology being deployed in the region.

Held alongside CIA2009 at the same venue is EnviroAsia2009, the fourth environmental technologies exhibition and conference. EnviroAsia addresses the international concerns of sustainable development through water, environmental and sustainable energy management solutions.
