Family Service Steps Up to Live United

Mt. Holly, NJ, October 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Family Service just kicked off their employee campaign to support the United Way of Burlington County. Family Service set this year’s Live United goal at $49,424.02 – $1.00 more than they raised last year. Why? Because every dollar from every employee who participates really does matter!

The 2009 Campaign Chairman and the Burlington County Institute of Technology superintendent, Dr. Dolores Szymanski announced United Way’s county-wide goal of $4.6 million at the September 25 campaign kick-off breakfast. The success of this year’s campaign is highly important because many Burlington County residents are in need of assistance due to continuing economic hardships.

“Family Service employees know the importance of giving back because of the people we assist everyday who have fallen on hard times or experienced extreme trauma in their lives,” explained Pamela Collins, Director of Development and Communication for Family Service. “These people are our next door neighbors, our child’s classmate, or even our own family. United Way is a big supporter of ours, and it is vital that we give back.”

This year, Family Service is planning different fundraisers such as the “Chili and Pie Cook-Off” where employees will be encouraged to participate by taste-testing different types of chili and pie, but also by competing and submitting their favorite recipe. The winner will receive a wonderful gift basket and the title of Family Service’s Chili or Pie Champion. Collins explained, “By adding variety to this year’s campaign, we are hoping to have a new level of enthusiasm and continue our successful partnership with United Way of Burlington County.”
