Ancra Systems Delivers a Comprehensive System to Hartog & Bikker Logistics for the Large-Scale Loading and Unloading of Beer

Boxtel, Netherlands, October 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The new logistics centre (55.000 m2) that Hartog & Bikker Logistics put into operation near the Heineken brewery (s’Hertogenbosch, NL) will be equipped with automatic truck loading and unloading systems from Ancra Systems. Regarding the scope and complexity of the system this is one of the largest automatic truck loading and unloading projects ever undertaken in the Netherlands.

Ancra Systems will supply in total eight automatic chain conveyor systems that are used for both, goods receipt and goods issue at the Heineken brewery for further onward distribution. An innovative aspect of this logistics centre is that besides beer, consolidation and transport of other drinks and empty bottles and cans is included.

The intrinsic characteristic in the order is that all eight systems consist of complete twin shuttle cars with chain conveyor systems. Thus, the trucks can be loaded and unloaded without prior removal. Furthermore, behind every shuttle car three buffer tracks have been placed, whereby each system has a capacity of five truck loads. The picking and placing of loads from the buffer tracks takes place by means of AGV’s.

Kees van Leeuwen (Sales Manager Ancra Systems): "This configuration of shuttle cars have been applied to a similar loading and unloading project which has proven to be extremely efficient and reliable."

Shuttle transport between the brewery and the logistics centre is already making use of the valuable system provided by Ancra Systems. The additional systems will be installed in the coming months; the delivery is planned for the beginning of 2010.
