Robert E. Mansfield Jr. Joins SecureRF Board of Advisors

Brigadier General (USAF, Retired) Robert E. Mansfield Jr. to provide guidance to SecureRF on supply chain and military initiatives

Westport, CT, October 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- SecureRF Corporation announces that retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Robert E. Mansfield, Jr., has joined their Board of Advisors.

Mansfield was recently the Director, National Center for Aerospace Leadership (NCAL) and Principle Investigator, National Aerospace Leadership Initiative (NALI) at the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT). The NALI is an Air Force Office of Scientific Research funded, national initiative focusing on the critical role of the US manufacturing supply chain in the aerospace industry. At NCAL he lead a team of scientists and technicians to improve the competitiveness of US aerospace manufacturing through the application of next generation manufacturing, modeling and simulation technologies and developing a workforce capable of using these technologies.

“I had the pleasure of working with Bob while serving on the NCAL advisory board,” said Louis Parks, SecureRF’s CEO. “His knowledge of logistics and supply chains, especially in the Department of Defense, is going to help SecureRF move forward with our mission of providing security solutions for systems and applications which have small or limited computing platforms yet require fast and strong security methods.”

Prior to joining CCAT, Mansfield was Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ Director of Global Supply Chain Services where he developed and provided sustainment services for Lockheed Martin designed and built in-service aircraft. Previously he had been the Director of Global Sustainment for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) where he led an integrated product team in the design and implementation of the integrated global supply chain network to sustain the fifth generation F-35, Lightening II.

Mr. Mansfield also worked for the Altarum Institute, a non-profit innovation and research firm leading the institute’s Supply Chain Engineering practice area.

While in the Air Force, Mansfield had 34 years of experience in logistics planning, operations, and supply chain management and served as Special Assistant for Supply Chain Integration and Logistics Transformation, Deputy Chief of Staff for Installations and Logistics. He was responsible for a major logistics initiative which fundamentally reshaped Air Force supply spares management and data systems. He served as the U.S. representative to NATO logistics planning and he established the U.S. European Command's Joint Movement Center.

Mansfield is currently in private practice with defense and commercial clients. He sits on several advisory boards and served as a member of the Defense Science Board’s 2006 Summer Study on “21st Century Strategic Technology Vectors.”

Mansfield holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (cum laude) from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Science degree in Acquisition Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College Program Manager's Course, and the Air War College.
