London, United Kingdom, October 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Cass’s Dean, Richard Gillingwater, joined over two hundred Real Estate alumni at a special reunion event to celebrate George Herd’s contribution to Cass’s real estate programmes.

Professor Simon Stevenson, Head of the Real Estate Finance & Investment Group, marked the occasion by announcing the creation of a new student award to be named in George's honour. The award will be presented annually and George made the inaugural presentation to Robert Jackson who graduated from the MA Property Valuation & Law in 2008.

George joined City University, as Senior Lecturer in Property Valuation, from Reading University where he had distinguished himself within the Department of Land Management and Development. During his time at City he has been Course Director of the MA and one of the leading forces behind the undergraduate property courses at City.

Professor Stevenson said: “George has played a pivotal role in establishing the reputation of Cass’s real estate courses in the industry, his dedication to students and the respect with which he is held in by students, alumni and his colleagues in the real estate group is unparalleled".

Richard Gillingwater said: “It was wonderful to see so many alumni at the event to honour the contribution of a man who has been the rock of the school's real estate courses for two decades. The attendance at the reunion was testament to the impact he has had on the students that have studied at Cass.”
