New CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer Released from ASHI

The American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) introduces an enhanced, content-rich upgrade to the CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer Program.

Eugene, OR, October 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Based in Eugene, Oregon, American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), a member of Health & Safety Institute (HSI) family of brands, announces the launch of the new and improved course materials for the CPR Pro program.

ASHI CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer is designed for healthcare providers and first responders inside and outside the hospital. The program covers sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack, and stroke; foreign body airway obstruction; CPR and AED training. These new materials continue to follow the 2005 guidelines for first aid (new guidelines will not be released until 2010).

ASHI students will also be able to utilize either a traditional print (classroom) or digital-book format. The digital-book version of the CPR Pro will give students anytime access to the same reference materials as contained in the print version. CPR Pro is available as part of the ASHI Blended Learning Solution through ASHI Training Centers. With blended learning, students complete the cognitive (knowledge) portion of the training online, allowing them to train and prepare at times that are convenient for them. After finishing the online portion, students, under the supervision of an Instructor, will complete a skills practice and evaluation session along with a written test before receiving their certification.

Bill Rowe, Director of Product Development for Health & Safety Institute believes that the new look and feel will be well received by Instructors and Students. “With new graphics and layout, the online Blended Learning Solution closely compliments our classroom print materials.”

Mr. Rowe goes on to say, “We’ve also met a key market demand by making the knowledge portion of our course an option that is available online, which makes it easier for adult students to fit training into their busy schedules.”
