Karen Gillman, New BNI “Profit Pros” Chapter President, Announces Change in Location

New BNI "Profit Pros" chapter leaders move meeting location to accommodate chapter growth, which now surpasses 50 members. Chapter president, Karen Gillman, says increased interest in referral based networking may indicate changes in small business decision making based on economic motivations.

Tampa, FL, October 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Karen Gillman, sales coordinator at Tampa’s Intelligent Office and new president of the Business Networking International (BNI) “Profit Pros” chapter, announced that the chapter has moved its weekly meeting location to the American Legion Hall at 3810 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, Fla. to accommodate an increase in membership.

“With over 50 chapter members attending each weekly meeting, we outgrew our former meeting space,” said Gillman. “What a great problem to have!”

“Unquestionably, the growing interest in our ‘back to basics’ networking style in BNI is a direct reflection of the power of a referral network,” Gillman added. “While more traditional, pricey marketing approaches are losing ground in our current business environment, word of mouth, personal endorsements and referrals are keeping businesses afloat and even profitable in BNI chapters throughout west central Florida.”

According to Louis Ayoub, the vice president of the “Profit Pros” chapter and owner of Intellitechs, chapter members generated over $2.4 million in closed sales for each other last year. That equates to an average earning potential of $55,000 per chapter member – all derived from chapter referrals.

“We track our chapter activity very closely,” Ayoub said. “We meet every week as a group, then we meet individually during the week to teach each other about our companies, products, services and goals. This process helps each chapter member build their own 50-person sales force, which leads to referrals and closed business. It’s really quite simple,” he said.

BNI chapter membership is competitive, as only one person can represent any given industry. People interested in joining a chapter are encouraged to attend a meeting at soon as possible and to join shortly thereafter if they’d like to lock out their competition.

The BNI “Profit Pros” chapter meets every Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall. At this time, the chapter is looking to fill the following referral partner seats: facials, spa, esthetician, limo company, roofer, dentist, family doctor, acupuncturist and corporate attorney.
