Jamaican High Commissioner Launches Caribbean Food Delights New Flavours in Asda, London

London, United Kingdom, October 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Within the past few days the Jamaican High Commissioner, Hon. Burchell Whiteman OJ, has launched Caribbean Savouries the distributors of the brand Caribbean Food Delights delicious new range of Jamaican patties in an Asda store in Colindale, London.

Two new flavors of authentic Jamaican Patties build upon the success of their existing range. The new flavours of Jerk Chicken and Curry Chicken will be in addition to the three existing flavours of Spicy Beef, Mild Beef and the Vegetable patty which is wrapped in a wholemeal crust which has no cholesterol, the other lines are very healthy products.

The Jamaican High Commissioner, Hon. Burchell Whiteman OJ, commented, “I am delighted to endorse the delicious new patties distributed by Caribbean Savouries. The taste from each of the five flavours provides a mouth-watering Jamaican flavour. The two new flavours will further establish Caribbean Savouries in the instant meal industry and will certainly further the UK’s love for Jamaican food."

The two new flavours contain chunky boneless chicken wrapped in a light golden pastry dough. Jerk is the authentic seasoning native to Jamaica in which meats are marinated with a spicy hot mixture which includes over 30 herbs and spices. The Curry Patty is spiced with special Jamaican Curry powder. All of the spices are imported from Jamaica and contributes towards the Jamaican economy by providing jobs and foreign exchange.

In addition to this the brand Caribbean Food Delights has contributed to the success of Jamaican Athletes such as Usain Bolt triple world record holder, Asafa Powell and many other top athletes through the annual Penn relays in the USA. At this event over 1500 meals are served every day to the athletes and accommodation provided throughout their stay, the Jamaican Bickle track team is also sponsored annually.

A medical bus has also been donated to the Jamaican government which provides medical and dental care throughout the island.

Scholarships have been established at the UWI for the island students who have proven that they can go to the next level.

A building has also been provided for women with HIV and other illnesses which provides accommodation them and medical care, this is run by Fr. Richard Holung.

Caribbean Savouries are proud to be sponsors of the Noel Holmes Memorial Hospital and West Haven Children Home for vulnerable children across Jamaica, which is based in Hanover and provides much needed medical equipment to the hospital and home in Jamaica, the Jamaican High Commissioner His Excellency Hon. Burchell Whiteman is also the patron of this Charity.
