ArtFire's Forge Feature: Making Custom Work Requests Easy

ArtFire.com's new feature makes it simple for buyers to request custom-made goods

Tucson, AZ, November 01, 2009 --(PR.com)-- ArtFire.com, the premiere artisan marketplace on the web, has launched the new and improved Forge feature for custom work. This feature allows buyers to submit requests for custom orders to the artisan community for artisan sellers to place bids on. Forge functions somewhat like a reverse auction with the customer setting budgets and delivery guidelines while Artfire's expert artisans submit bids to create the item as specified.

Using the Forge feature, buyers can set their own price, materials, deadline and other requirements for custom work to ensure the finish product is just as they envision it. Sellers then compete through bidding for the project, and the buyer is able to pick and choose which bid they wish to accept. Sellers can use this tool to bring in work for themselves, and those specializing in custom work can even subscribe to a category specific RSS feed of Forge submissions in their given field to monitor requests.

“The Forge will provide an additional way for buyers and sellers to work together,” said John Jacobs, CEO of ArtFire.com. “This feature allows buyers to have access to thousands of talented artisans and work in cooperation to create the perfect item for their needs.”
