LIOBmedia Launches Smithsonian National Postal Museum's, "Moving the Mail West" Website, Specifically for Middle-School Students and Teachers

Washington, DC, November 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- With a fun and up beat feel, this site has everything an educator needs to teach their students about the use of mail in the American West. Some of the notable features include lesson plans for teachers and a Pony Express online game which help students raise their skill level of analyzing and drawing conclusions from primary and secondary sources.

“Students will increase their knowledge of 19th century transportation and communication history in America. This is an important part of students’ understanding of American History because it helps to connect disparate themes of democracy, technology, and individual accomplishment,” says Allison Wickens, Director of Education for the National Postal Museum. “Teachers will also change their attitude towards the relevance of postal-themed history as a framework for teaching American History.”

LIOBmedia incorporated Autonomy Interwoven TeamSite, a leading web content management product for the Moving the Mail West website. “With TeamSite, NPM staff can make any changes to the website using a browser-based user friendly and intuitive interface” says Lillie Fujinaga, Creative Director. “This application makes it so easy to add, modify, test and approve content through automated processes.”

A poster was also created for this year’s Teachers’ Night to promote and inspire teachers that the website is an excellent resource they can use in their own classrooms.
