Society of Education Consultants Reviews Corporate Membership Programme to Benefit Education Consultancy Businesses

Due to increased demand for corporate membership, the Society of Education Consultants is revising its corporate membership policy for education consultancy companies.

To bring the SEC corporate membership policy in line with industry standards of other professional organisations, the society is considering offering a sliding scale of allocated memberships to a company dependent on its size. "The core issue relates to how many memberships are included for the corporate membership programme," explained Adam Caller, Marketing Officer for the SEC committee. "For example, if a company joins under a corporate membership, and has twelve employees, should all twelve individuals be members? We are considering a revision of the current system, resulting in a certain number of memberships allocated to a company dependent on the number of employees. We envisage that this would encourage active participation in SEC meetings from key individuals who can then disseminate information back to their own company."

"We're seeing an increase in the number of enquiries from corporate bodies wishing to become members of the SEC, so this is a priority for us," Adam continued. "It's unsurprising given the current economic climate, as membership of the SEC allows consultancies to collaborate with freelance education consultants when a specific skill set is required. Many companies have downsized over the past 18 months, and are reluctant to take on full-time consultants. Being able to tap into a network of credible education consultants, as and when they are required, is an efficient way to run a consultancy business.
