Guerrilla Marketing for Consultants Invades Orange County in October

The first-ever joint IMC & APC meeting that is open to the public will be held at the Irvine Hilton on October 19, 2006. The meeting will focus on guerrilla marketing for consultants.

Irvine, CA, October 03, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The Association of Professional Consultants (APC) a California-based, non-profit assisting its member consultants in building and managing their successful consulting practices, and the Southern California chapter of Institute of Management Consultants (IMC SoCal), a national accrediting organization serving the management consulting community through education, mentoring, and growth practices, announces a collaborative meeting on Thursday, October 19, 2006, at the Irvine Hilton. The meeting will focus on guerrilla marketing as the topic of the day, and will features presentations by two prominent consultants in the field.

The term “guerrilla marketing” was coined by Jay Conrad Levinson in his 1982 book of the same name. The focus is on the creativity of unconventional marketing tactics rather than budget as it is designed for small business. The term, while loosely defined, also encompasses viral marketing, buzz marketing, and alternative marketing (among others). Advancements in technology and communications help the progression of guerrilla marketing as these new tools are used in creative and unconventional ways of presenting marketing messages.

The joint meeting features two interactive sessions highlighting fundamentals for consultants interested in managing their practices more efficiently, expanding market visibility and serving their clients more effectively. The special meeting format includes two powerful segments. The first, The Art of Guerrilla Marketing for Consultants, features Michael McLaughlin, (consultant and author). The second, Website Content & Website Promotion for Consultants, features Harald Weiss (President -Technical Marketing Group, Inc.) and Henry DeVries (President - New Client Marketing Institute).

“This first-ever joint meeting of IMC SoCal and APC is both historic and designed to broaden the communication and expertise of professional business consultants in Orange County and Los Angeles,” said Harold Weiss, IMC and APC member and president of Technical Marketing Group. “We encourage all consultants and self-employed professionals, or those who are considering a consulting career to attend. The sessions target business owners who are adept in their skills set but lacking expertise in promoting their own businesses. Both the IMC and APC provide business professionals ongoing programs that expand and train the skills to achieve this goal,” Weiss said.
