Global Sources Donates Trade Show Booths to Support Philippine Exporters in the Aftermath of Typhoons

Booths at the China Sourcing Fair: Home Products help members of the Philippine Chamber of Handicrafts Industry to meet volume buyers and generate new orders.

Philippines, Philippines, November 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL) (http://www.globalsources.com) has donated 14 booths (worth 2.5 million peso) at the China Sourcing Fair: Home Products to Philippine exporters with the aim of supporting the local economy in the aftermath of typhoons Ketsana and Parma.

The company distributed the booths to exporters belonging to the Philippine Chamber of Handicrafts Industry (PCHI) for the sourcing trade show held at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, Oct. 20-23. Global Sources also set up donation boxes at the Fair to collect funds for victims.

Global Sources' executive director, Sarah Benecke, said: "Global Sources has been directly affected by this tragedy, as many of our team members are based in Manila. We have long ties to the Philippines and we have also been strong supporters of the country's exports via our media channels, as well as through non-profit support from the Kearny Alliance (http://www.kearnyalliance.org).

"Tropical Storm Parma has had a deep impact on victims, both emotionally and economically. By providing exporters with free booth space and collecting donations on-site, we hope to help speed the country's economic recovery."

PCHI President, Albert de Rivera, said: "We are very appreciative of the support Global Sources has given to the local handicrafts industry. By supporting exports, we hope that our combined efforts may ultimately help support the livelihoods of people affected by this disaster.

"Our success in this tight economic situation, with the support of Global Sources, goes a long way to help our workers and their families, and the general export industry in the Philippines as a whole."
