The Learning House, Inc. Recognized as a High Growth Company During National Distance Learning Week

The Company, Founded in 2001, Receives “Hot Dozen” Award from Louisville Chamber for Entrepreneurial Growth and Achievement in Distance Learning Industry

Louisville, KY, November 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Learning House, Inc. has been named a 2009 “Hot Dozen” company by Greater Louisville Inc’s EnterpriseCorp, the Louisville region’s chamber of commerce. The award, which coincides with National Distance Learning Week, November 9-13, 2009, recognizes locally-owned companies that have benefited from the region’s entrepreneurial atmosphere and that continue to thrive in their individual business industry. Learning House’s recognition as a Hot Dozen company comes on the heels of being named in the top 20 of the Business First Fast 50 list, honoring the fastest growing companies in Louisville. These awards help bring further awareness to the increased demand for online education as it recognizes the growth of an industry-leading company.

As a privately-held company, Learning House, has achieved significant growth since a group of private equity investors invested in the company in November, 2007. Now led by Learning House President and CEO, David T. Richardson, the Company has grown revenue 94% and doubled its headcount over the past two years. During 2009, Learning House has added 18 new clients, bringing its total client portfolio to 71 colleges and universities.

“We are proud of our growth on a national scale, and are honored to work with schools across the country,” said Richardson. “Receiving this award is great for our industry.”

National Distance Learning Week Brings Attention to Industry Growth

As a company founded at a time when the distance learning industry was in its early stages, Learning House quickly recognized the impact that distance learning would have in the 21st century. According to the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), distance learning is the fastest growing segment of the education market.

Furthermore, a recent study from the Sloan Consortium, a leadership organization for online education, found that:

· Schools expect the number of online students to grow to over 2.6 million.
· e-Learning is now estimated to represent about 10% of the overall training and educational market.
· The proportion of institutions with fully online programs rises steadily as institutional size increases, and about two-thirds of the very largest institutions have fully online programs, compared to only about one-sixth of the smallest institutions.

“We’ve seen an increase in the demand from schools to provide online education opportunities,” said Richardson. “Our comprehensive services include everything a school needs to be successful.”
