Bowen Family Homes’ Penny Power Promotion Comes to a Close

Atlanta, GA, November 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Bowen Family Homes awarded $2,500 each to a potential homebuyer and a Realtor at its Grand Finale Penny Toss competition on November 10 at 9 a.m. at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth.

Homebuyers tossed pennies from 15-feet for the chance to win new home for $.01, while Realtors also tossed pennies from 15-feet to take home the grand prize of $50,000. Upon entering the event, homebuyers and Realtors chose prize envelopes that were numbered from one to 100. One envelope contained a new home and one included $50,000.

Upon completing the tosses, each winner opened their envelope to reveal their prize. Potential homebuyer, Charles Cooper, who had captured the homebuyer’s toss, opened his envelope first, learning that he won $2,500. Realtor, Michael Garcia followed, also discovering that he had won $2,500. At the end of the event, the prize envelopes containing the winning numbers were revealed to the crowd.

“While we would have liked to see one of our finalists take home the grand prize of a brand new Bowen Family Home or $50,000, we are still pleased we were able to give away a grand total of $5,000,” said Bowen Family Homes’ Marketing Director, Kelly Fink. “It was a wonderful event and everyone that participated had a great time. We look forward to having more events like this in the future.”

Homebuyer finalists who did not win the Grand Finale event received $1,000 towards the purchase of a Bowen Family Home.

During the promotion all 100 homebuyer finalists and 100 Realtor finalists had their photo taken with a cutout of Bowen Family Homes’ superhero, Penny Lane. Visitors were able to vote on their favorite photo by visiting www.bowenpennypower.com. The winner of the photo contest, Kristen Boggs took home a $100 American Express gift card for being named “favorite photo” of visitors to the Web site.

Throughout the promotion, homebuyers interested in winning a Bowen Family Home for just $.01 and Realtors looking to win $50,000 had to follow Bowen Family Homes’ Penny Promotion on their Web site, www.bowenpennypower.com or on Twitter and Facebook at either www.twitter.com/bowenfamilyhome or www.facebook.com/bowenfamilyhomes. The promotion could also be monitored on Bowen Family Homes’ blog, www.bowenfamilyhomesblog.com.

To qualify, homebuyers and Realtors had to visit one of 13 participating Bowen Family Home’s communities throughout metro Atlanta. The first 100 homebuyers and Realtors to successfully toss a penny into a fish bowl from ten feet were entered into the finale event. Participants were asked to use their own pennies, which are being donated to HomeAid Atlanta, a non-profit provider of housing for the homeless.

Homebuyers could earn one penny toss by touring a Bowen Family community; three tosses by becoming pre-qualified to buy a home with a Bowen Family Home preferred lender and five tosses if the homebuyer is under contract or writes a contract on a Bowen Family Home. Realtors earned one toss by touring a Bowen Family community or by attending a Penny Power Event; three tosses by previewing a Bowen Family Home with a client and five tosses if their client wrote a contract on a Bowen Family Home. Numerous special penny tossing events also occurred throughout the promotion with some including unlimited penny tosses.
