Midway College and Highland Community College Offer Students a Great Educational Opportunity

The 2+2 Online Academic Agreement Helps graduates of Highland Community College Earn a Bachelors Degree Online from Midway College.

Highland, KS, November 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Midway College and Highland Community College - online education partners of Learning House (www.learninghouse.com) have established an articulation agreement (2+2) allowing students at both schools to earn their degrees entirely online. Eligible students will complete the first leg of the degree program at HCC and the latter at Midway, with a smooth and flawless transfer of course credits between the two colleges.

Formalized articulation agreements govern the transfer of credits between schools, in order to smooth the transition for students. The agreement between HCC and Midway officially matches the coursework between the two schools, ensuring a seamless admission and academic credit transfer from HCC to Midway for the students enrolled in this program. This enables a smooth and uninterrupted transition for students as they work towards their degree.

“Flexibility is key for students today as many are working full-time and raising a family while also trying to earn or complete a degree,” said Ellen D. Gregory, Midway College’s vice-president for marketing and communications. “Our partnership with Highland Community College allows for that flexibility with the degree programs being offered 100 percent online.”

Currently, the 2+2 Agreement includes the online Bachelor’s Degrees through Midway College in Homeland Security Corporate Management and Assessment (HSCMA) as well as Organizational Administration and Leadership (OAL). Both programs offer a wide array of employment potential in industries including; Government, Green Industries, Finance, Healthcare, Military/National Guard and many more.

The Homeland Security Corporate Management and Assessment Program aims to train corporate homeland security professionals to function as managers of corporate or industrial security programs. Students will focus on state-of-the-art techniques in: Vulnerability assessment, Risk management, Consequence management, Disaster recovery and Continuity techniques and technologies.

The Organizational Administration and Leadership Program aims to build a solid foundation for future leadership in business and other organization types through a wide range of courses, including analyzing business tactics and finances, and mastering computer skills and interpersonal relationships.

Students who wish to apply for the 2+2 Program must first apply for admission to HCC, where they will complete their associate’s degree online. Upon completion, they will apply to Midway, where they will then finish out the program and obtain their bachelor’s degree entirely online. While students enjoy the flexibility of learning in an online platform, the multi-school element also allows for maximum interaction with a wide variety of faculty members and other students from around the country. This interaction assists the mission of both schools in educating and enriching students to be worthwhile contributors to contemporary society.
