Antioch University Santa Barbara Appoints Michael Mulnix, Ph.D., as University Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Santa Barbara, CA, October 06, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Antioch University Southern California at Santa Barbara has recently appointed Michael Mulnix, Ph.D., a veteran academic scholar, researcher and senior-level administrator as University Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

“I am pleased that Michael has joined Antioch University Santa Barbara as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs,” said LucyAnn Geiselman, Ph.D., President of Antioch University Southern California. “He assumes leadership during a time of great opportunity and potential for growth at AUSB. With plans for new and exciting programs already underway, I am confident that under his leadership the University will continue to provide the progressive and innovative higher education to Santa Barbara and the surrounding communities.”

Dr. Mulnix comes to Antioch University after most recently serving as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research at University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio, Texas, where he developed academic policies as well as oversaw enrollment management and marketing for all graduate academic programs. He has also held several senior-level administrator positions and other administrative roles at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Alaska-Southeast and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.

Dr. Mulnix received his doctorate in Public Communication from the University of Maryland where his doctoral dissertation focused on the higher education market titled, “The Focus, Scope and Structure of Higher Education Marketing: Expanding the Public Relations Paradigm.” Currently, Dr. Mulnix is the Editor of the Journal of Hispanic Higher Education (Sage Publications) as well as the Editor of Research on Hispanic and Latino Business/Education (Information Age).
