WHOA! FAT™ - Kitchen Waste Oil Disposal Box Available for the Holiday Season

Island Shell LLC released today a new product designed to reduce occurrence of sewage backups and spills by helping reduce the point source of fats, oils and grease from residential kitchens.

Aiea, HI, November 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Pouring Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) down the drain is the number 1 cause of kitchen sink clogs, plumbing backups and sewerage spills. Now proper disposal of residential FOGs is easy and convenient with a simple recycled product that reduces the hassle of disposing of waste cooking oils.

Environmental Manufacturing completed market analysis last summer and recently began manufacturing an innovative cooking oil disposal box. This "Made in Hawaii" product named WHOA! FAT™ helps home cooks get rid of waste oil by making proper disposal easy.

Each WHOA! FAT™ box is packed with absorbent and designed to hold about 3 cups of waste oil. The absorbent material itself is made from recycled paper specially processed to increase absorbency. The coated box is leak resistant with a metal handle in a form familiar to almost everyone - a restaurant take out box.

Just pour Fat, Oil and Grease (FOG) into the box. Store in the refrigerator between uses and when full place the box in the trash (Grey Bin). H-POWER then converts the FOG, paper pulp and cellulose to energy. Placing absorbed oils into the trash is the best disposal practice. Freezing the grease works only till the sun comes up. Once it turns back to a liquid it can easily spill onto the street creating a mess and a hazard.

With proper disposal, apartment owners can reduce CAM charges. Homeowners, especially those with septic tanks, can reduce clogs and trouble calls. The City and taxpayers can reduce sewerage maintenance costs. And we can all help the environment by preventing sewerage spills.

Island Shell, LLC dba Environmental Manufacturing is Hawaii owned and operated. The manufacturing operation reclaims cellulose wood pulp from recycled paper. The assembly operations package various pulp products sold through distributors. Product uses range from seeding and erosion control to toxic waste disposal. Ancillary activities include sale and distribution of industrial process equipment, recycling equipment and related materials.
