Child1st Publications Introduces New Bilingual Sight Word Cards for Special Needs

Lincolnton, NC, November 27, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The new sight word cards follow a similar format to Child1st's bestselling SnapWords™ cards. The front of each card includes an image embedded into the word, enabling visual and other right brain learners, as well as those labeled with dyslexia, autism, Asperger's and ADD to engage with the word. Each back includes the plain word without the image, the word used in a sentence to help with correct usage, and lists a recommended hand motion to meet kinesthetic learners where they're at.

"There is a growing number of people in bilingual schools, as well as native English speakers learning Spanish for the first time who all need teaching products that work," said Sarah Major, CEO of Child1st Publications. "The cards really step in and meet these needs. The images bridge the gap for visual learners by giving them something to hold on to, while the English and Spanish sentences help students know how to correctly use the words in a sentence."

About Child1st

Child1st Publications is a North Carolina based company that designs and sells multisensory educational materials targeting beginning and remedial learners, specifically those who would otherwise constitute the failing portion of educational test results. Child1st integrates explicit phonics instruction with specific strategies (visuals, movement, storytelling, humor, rhyme, and patterns) to engage children with an array of learning strengths. Incorporating a variety of strategies into each lesson ensures that the needs of each child in the group will be addressed. The products are specifically designed to help visual learners and other right brain learners, those labeled with dyslexia, autism, Asperger's, ADD, and those who struggle with reading comprehension. CFP's products are also highly effective in teaching beginning readers, building a strong foundation for learning from the very start. Innovative products include SnapWords™ (stylized sight words--words that appear most often in children's texts), SnapLetters™, and the Easy-for-Me™ Reading Program. Also suitable for those learning English as a second, third, or even fourth language, Child1st's materials have been used by clients from Malta to Mexico, and the company is quickly building a strong Asian market.
