Debt Advisory Line Ready to Help

Keighley, United Kingdom, November 28, 2009 --( Debt Advisory Line are urging those with debt worries to take professional debt advice after recent research found eight out of ten people are concerned about their financial health.

Research carried out by the insurer Axa, which was reported by the Telegraph, found issues concerning most people are keeping on top of their bills and repaying debt.

More than a third of employees questioned admitting such concerns prevented them from working to their full potential, while around one in 20 said they had taken time off work during the past year because of debt worries.

Craig Gedey, from Debt Advisory Line, which was voted Debt Management Provider in 2008 and 2009 at the Credit Today Awards, urged people not to struggle on their own.

He said: “Debt can be an extremely stressful experience and consumers should know that there is free help and advice available.”

“It is important that consumers obtain debt advice from a professional debt advisor who will be able to recommend a suitable debt solution based upon the individual’s circumstances.”

Meanwhile, consumers have been further rocked by this week’s landmark ruling by the Supreme Court on bank charges.

The ruling means the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) will no longer be able to continue its investigation into the fairness of charges levied by UK banks on customers who have unauthorized overdrafts.

Craig added: “People have been left stunned and saddened by the judgment handed down which could push their own unsecured personal debt to levels that they can no longer manage effectively on a day to day basis.

“People should remember not to let their debts spiral out of control - award winning help and solutions are just a phone call or a mouse click away.”

Debt Advisory Line employs more than 200 staff based in its head office at Keighley, West Yorkshire, and Cheadle, Greater Manchester.
