Anne Corder Recruitment Presented with National Eco Award

Peterborough recruitment agency Anne Corder Recruitment was thrust onto the international stage as its Paperless Office Project scooped a top award.

Peterborough, United Kingdom, December 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Anne Corder and recruitment partner Karen Dykes were guests of honour at a ceremony at the Houses of Parliament which also saw winners from as far afield as Brazil, Eritrea and India. They were presented with a silver gong at the Green Apple Awards for Environmental Best Practice and Sustainable Development by ex Bond girl, actress Alexandra Bastedo. ACR – the only recruitment agency on the winners’ list - undertook an 18 month project to banish paper from its head office in Park Road and satellite office in Lynch Wood in an effort to help the environment, streamline procedures and cuts costs. And the project will now be used as a blue print by eco experts to encourage others to take steps towards running a more environmentally friendly office. ACR was the only recruitment agency to be represented at the awards and one of the few private companies alongside many public corporations. “We were delighted to win the award and to be held up as an example of best practice in this area,” said Karen. “The project has represented a huge time and financial undertaking but one which pays dividends in efficiency, savings and of course environmentally every day. “We were honoured to be recognised alongside some very innovative companies and individuals.” The agency is now speaking to clients and contacts about the benefits of running an entirely electronic office in the hope some will start taking steps towards a more green way of working.
