Web Marketing Association Names Best Sports Industry Web Site Following 2006 WebAward Competition

Best Web Sites Announced in 10th Annual WebAward Competition covering 96 Industries Including Sports

West Simsbury, CO, October 10, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The Web Marketing Association is pleased to announce the Best of the Sports Industry Web Site Winner as part of the 10th annual international WebAward Competition, the Internet’s premier website award competition.

“Sports websites in previous years have scored very well for design, copyrighting and use of technology,” said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. “Sports websites that fall behind the industry standards can improve by leveraging the judges’ feedback following the WebAward competition.”

Sports websites represent a highly competitive industry within the WebAward competition. Each website is judged on the same seven criteria including:

Design
Innovation
Content
Technology
Interactivity
Copy writing
Ease of use

The overarching goal of the WebAward Competition is to provide a forum to recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing the most effective sports websites on the Net today.

This year’s best web sites along with past WebAward winners in the sporting industry are:
