Costa Mesa, CA, December 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- It is a question as old as time itself: what should we accomplish through our existence? Many times, people can feel as if they are living in a culture that is only concerned with getting ahead in their business, regardless of the carnage left behind. This has never been more apparent in American history than now, as we live in a time marred by the greed of Wall Street and unethical corporate practices. Unfortunately, these dishonest dealings have affected every citizen, and have launched us into a time of economic downturn. When it seems like the almighty dollar is king, what can we do to promote businesses who are cognizant of not only profitability, but their integrity and fellow man as well?
Thankfully, some businesses have higher goals than making a buck: they aim to positively impact the lives of people struggling around the world. Companies involved in ethical business practices will be showcased at the Global Awareness Fair, held by Vanguard University’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team. This legacy project features walk-through exhibitions of various socially responsible companies and will be held at The Camp in Costa Mesa (2937 Bristol St, Costa Mesa, CA) on December 6, 2009 from 12-3 PM.

Local and international businesses will be featured at the Global Awareness Fair. Some of the participants include 31 Bits Designs, who sell recycled jewelry made by women in Uganda, Empowering Lives, an organization that builds schools and health care facilities in East Africa, Krochet Kids, which helps people in developing nations rise above poverty, and many others. Non-profit groups such as Live2Free, which strives to raise awareness about injustice and domestic violence and Liberty in North Korea, or LiNK, who aims to rescue refugees escaping the oppression of North Korea, will also be present. All the proceeds generated through this event will go directly to the businesses to help each organization fulfill their philanthropic missions.
