Stockezy Announces Success in India’s Biggest Online Stock Picking Competition - ‘Stock Market Warriors 2009′
The Competition (16th Nov - 27th Nov) since beginning has seen participation from 1000 students of the top 18 Indian B-Schools including all Seven IIM’s. The competition also streamed each team’s performance in real - time on its page.
Mumbai, India, December 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Stockezy, a pioneer in Online Social Investing space in India has seen great success with its recent initiative - ‘Stock Market Warriors - All India B-School Stock Picking and Derivatives Trading Competition 2009′.
The Competition (16th Nov - 27th Nov) since beginning has seen participation from 1000 students of the top 18 Indian B-Schools including all Seven IIM’s. The competition also streamed each team’s performance in real - time on its page (http://www.stockezy.com/competition/).
Round 1 (Nov 16-20) - Intra-College Stock Picking competition.
Round 2 ( Nov 23-27) - Inter-College Derivatives Trading Strategy competition.
‘Stock Market Warriors-2009′ started with heavy activity in Round - I consisting mainly of Cash Market Intra-College trades. The Top 3 Teams from each college advanced to Round - II which tested their acumen in Index and Stock derivatives. Round - II has seen each team posting their advanced trading strategies for the day on Stockezy.com for other Investors to benefit upon. In all the Student participants added 8600 stock recommendations within a span of 12 days.
The Competition in the end was won by Ankur Sharma and Vivek Jain from Management Development Institute. The 1st runner Up position was garnered by Gautham Balinga and Puja Sharma (Management Development Institute) followed by Manish Baseer and Ajeet Kumar from IIM-Bangalore.
The winning team was awarded with prize bounty of 25,000 and 15,000 & 10,000 for runner-ups. The competition also rewarded the best performing teams with certificates to boast of their financial talent.
Ankur Sharma and Vivek Jain (Winning Team) commented, "This Stock Picking & Derivatives Competition is an effective medium for B schools graduate across India to learn and show case their knowledge of the financial markets and work in a team to take effective decisions based on real life financial conditions. It is a unique event which tests participants on both the equity and derivative market. It is a good platform for all to learn about financial markets and learn to create personalized investment strategies, analyze stock picks and more importantly getting a holistic view of the Indian financial markets."
