Nafa's New Jersey Chapter Holds Annual Holiday Meeting and Fleet Fair with Sports Announcer Michael Kay as Guest Speaker

NAFA's New Jersey Chapter to celebrate the holidays with Yankees announcer Michael Kay and a Fleet Fair on December 8th.

Princeton, NJ, December 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- NAFA's New Jersey Chapter will hold its annual holiday meeting and fleet fair on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany, NJ. Michael Kay, an Emmy Award-winning radio and television sports announcer, will be the guest speaker. During the meeting, the Chapter will be collecting donations for Jersey Cares, a non-profit community-based organization that links volunteers with meaningful service projects to improve and enhance communities in New Jersey.

"A Conversation with Michael Kay" offers a rare opportunity to hear the famed sportscaster in an intimate setting. Kay's voice is well known among fans of the New York Yankees for which he has called games on the YES Network since 2002 and on WABC radio for the ten years prior. In addition to his play-by-play duties, Kay is the host of "CenterStage", a one-on-one interview series with the superstars of sports and entertainment that airs on YES. He is also heard weekdays on ESPN Radio with "The Michael Kay Show".

The annual Fleet Fair and Affiliates Night provides the New Jersey Chapter with an opportunity to network and reward the various affiliates that support the chapter during the entire year. The Fleet Fair includes more than 15 exhibitors including Ford/Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Subaru, Toyota, Audi, Pep Boys, AAMCO, ARI, and Corporate Claims Management.

Items donated by attendees will be delivered to Jersey Cares for their First Night Kit Program, which provides kits for domestic violence shelters, transitional housing facilities, runaway safe havens, foster homes, and other agencies with transitional populations in need of hygiene items on the "first night" of their stay. The Chapter is asking attendees to bring new, unopened items such as pajamas, t-shirts, socks, and underwear (note: tags must be left on). Also needed are trial size toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, combs, books, calling cards, gallon-size zip lock bags, and small toys for children's kits. For each item donated NJ NAFA will provide one raffle ticket for a special raffle prize during dinner.

Registration for the chapter meeting begins at 3 p.m. and admission is $75 per person, which includes dinner. The Birchwood Manor is located at 111 North Jefferson Road in Whippany, NJ. The registration deadline is December 4, but walk-ins are welcome.
