PlattForm Nominated for Emmy

PlattForm, an all-encompassing advertising agency specializing in creative solutions for higher education and all branches of the U.S. military, has been nominated for its first regional Emmy.

Olathe, KS, October 11, 2006 --(PR.com)-- With more than 350 employees, it’s not surprising that a company the size of PlattForm has a couple of team members named Steve, a half-dozen Erins and more Sarahs than you can shake a stick at. What the agency is missing, though, is an Emmy. Hopefully not for much longer.

On Sept. 15, the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences nominated PlattForm for a regional Emmy in the Best Service Program category. This is PlattForm’s first Emmy nomination to date.

The nine-minute-long video PlattForm produced spotlights a local Kansas City hospice, SAVE Inc., which provides housing assistance to men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS.

“Believe me, it was definitely a collaborative effort, and it was definitely a labor of love,” said Michael Mackie, who produced the SAVE piece. “It’s pretty impressive considering this was the first charity piece our team has worked on.”

Selected from 12 entrants, PlattForm’s piece is competing against two other nominees to be crowned as the Best Service Program video for the Heartland Regional Emmy Awards. The Heartland division includes all or part of the following states: Colorado, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas and Wyoming.

“It has been an honor for SAVE to be associated with this beautiful video, which has helped us raise over $300,000 for housing assistance for those living with HIV/AIDS,” said Mark Anderson, SAVE Executive Director.

In 2005, PlattForm formed a philanthropic committee, and the video for SAVE was its first undertaking. PlattForm has since produced videos for two additional charitable organizations.

PlattForm’s production team included producer Mackie, editor Jason Kerschner and videographer Hanuman Brown-Eagle.

“I can’t say enough good things about this piece or my team,” said Tamie Platt, PlattForm Chief Creative Officer. “PlattForm has really wrapped its arms around this charity, and this nomination just deepens our commitment to SAVE, Inc.”

The winners will be announced at the awards gala in Denver on Oct. 21.
