Malmoe, Sweden, December 11, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Beamways has designed a fully operational demonstration model for its Podcar system. The model is first shown at the Podcar City Conference in Malmö, Sweden on December 9-10, 2009. The model will subsequently be set up at Bella Center, the venue of the Copenhagen climate conference to illustrate how podcars can help reduce the green house gas emissions from the transport of people.
“It is a great honour for us to be represented at COP15”, says Bengt Gustafsson, CEO of Beamways, “we think that this model will increase the understanding of podcar technology among the COP15 delegates.”
Podcars is a revolutionary new way of transportation for local trips in cities. With podcars the convenience and travel speed of the private car is combined with the environmental friendliness of mass transit.
Podcars are automatic, car size vehicles travelling on separate elevated tracks. Podcars perform individual trips and waits for clients at the stations. This eliminates time tables, intermediate stops and changes, providing fast and simple travel. All passengers are seated and podcars offer room for luggage, wheel chairs and even bikes.
