The Canadian Club of Vancouver’s New Website Demonstrates Best Practices in Awards Category

Website Demonstrating Excellence in Best Industry Application - Services Category Nominated for 2006 WSI Web Awards.

Vancouver, Canada, October 12, 2006 --(PR.com)-- WSI (We Simplify the Internet) has offered the Canadian Club of Vancouver’s website (www.canadianclubvancouver.ca) global recognition with a nomination for the 2006 WSI Web Awards in the category of Best Industry Application - Services. The site showcases the efforts of club President Dr. Jean Watters and his team from the Canadian Club of Vancouver to rejuvenate the club by initiating a youth movement, adopting a new logo and launching a new website.

Watters worked with WSI Consultant Michael Blanchard with the intention of increasing the organization’s exposure on the Web. Their goal was to offer an easier way for members to access event information and registration.

On Friday, November 3, 2006, The Canadian Club of Vancouver will celebrate its 100th anniversary by hosting a gala during which the new site and logo will be officially launched. In keeping with the youth movement, Michael Blanchard contacted Lynn Chen, a student at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, to create the new logo for the club. The website was then designed around the board-approved logo.

“It has been a great pleasure working with Michael Blanchard and WSI,” stated Dr. Jean Watters. “Our goal was to develop a fresh new image for the club’s 100th anniversary. We also are focused on a new youth movement and Michael Blanchard answered the bell on both calls. We have a great new site that reflects the club’s vitality and serves its members better.”

By working with a WSI Consultant, the Canadian Club of Vancouver was able to benefit from WSI’s Internet Marketing focus, knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, and website traffic generation. Since its launch last month, the visitor traffic of the website has increased exponentially.

Being nominated in the Best Industry Application - Services category in the 2006 WSI Web Awards is a great accomplishment for the Canadian Club of Vancouver. This nomination will increase the visibility of the website and, in turn, the organization, resulting from promotion of the awards and the nominated sites by WSI through their global network of over 1,500 Consultants in 87 countries worldwide.

WSI introduced the first annual WSI Web Awards to showcase the best of the thousands of Internet solutions created each year by WSI Consultants using the customized services and products of the WSI e-Marketplace Production Centers and Authorized Suppliers. WSI had thousands of submissions of sites to be considered for the 2006 WSI Web Awards. Each site was scored and ranked by a global team of experienced Consultant site auditors, and sites with a score of 90 out of 100 or over in their category were evaluated and were then short listed, resulting in 48 sites nominated as WSI Web Awards finalists. Sites were then voted on by the global community of 1,500 plus WSI Consultants to determine the winners.

WSI’s internationally recognized Internet Consultants assess clients’ business needs and opportunities by using the patent pending Lifecycle™ System, an Internet solutions delivery framework. The first step is the Internet Business Analysis (IBA) process, during which Michael Blanchard will ask direct questions to identify clients’ competitive advantage, target markets, online/offline marketing initiatives and objectives of an Internet presence. The client’s Internet Solution is then customized - using services such as consultation, design, development, hosting, optimization, site registration and Internet marketing support - to both reduce business overhead and increase profit. A WSI solution is designed to draw qualified traffic to a website leading to more customer conversions online.
