San Diego Marketing Group Volunteers with Therapeutic Recreation Services

San Diego, CA, December 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- San Diego Marketing Group volunteered Saturday, December 5th, 2009 at the Theraeutic Recreation Services 27th Annual Holiday Carnival & Craft Fair. Twelve members of San Diego Marketing Group volunteered their time to the foundation. The Holiday Carnival and Craft Fair consisted of more than 30 booths and games with activities to benefit individuals with disabilities.

The City of San Diego Park & Recreation Therapeutic Recreation Services is a program created in 1972 provided to reach out to San Diegans with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. The program provides sports, recreation, and leisure services. The services provided include therapeutic recreation programs and adaptive sports opportunities, meant specifically to address the special needs of individuals with disabilities who may not be able to access other opportunities offered to the general public. The Services reach more than 50,000 people annually and have received local, state and national recognition for being outstanding in the field of recreation for people with disabilities.

San Diego Marketing Group members were manning four different game booths. Each member was in charge of setting up stations, running contests and helping children with the game participation.

It is not mandatory for employees to volunteer at events like this, so I am so proud of the people that work here for taking time out of their Saturday to help out.
