New York, NY, December 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Beauty Bar Owner Paul Devitt today announced the launch of Beauty Bar Vodka, a pure ultra-premium vodka made in a centuries-old, family-owned distillery in the Netherlands. Beauty Bar Vodka will be available exclusively at all Beauty Bar locations in New York, Brooklyn, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Austin beginning December 17, 2009 with launch parties at each location from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. One Dollar from each vodka drink will go directly to Bright Pink, a national non-profit organization that provides education and support to young women who are at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer.

USA Today, in the November 27, 2009 edition, included Beauty Bar San Diego in the “Top 10 Great Places to Forge Fun” and said of Beauty Bar, “This small national nightlife chain provides the beautiful and beauty-minded with a stylish spot in which to enjoy mani/pedi or other salon services while partying with the cool crowd. Vintage hair dryers and other atmospheric accoutrements make for a retro-chic setting.”

Beauty Bar was first launched by Devitt in Manhattan in 1995 as a one-of-a-kind beauty “saloon” concept featuring manicures and martinis set among vintage hair dryers and salvaged salon equipment from around the country. Soon celebrating 15 years in New York, Devitt decided to launch his own signature vodka to complement the growing Beauty Bar brand and to create awareness and raise money to help fight breast and ovarian cancer.

“I wanted to make my own vodka for several years,” says Devitt. “With the growing popularity of Beauty Bar and the continuing positive reaction people have to the concept, the time was right to launch Beauty Bar Vodka. My family and my wife have personally experienced breast cancer and I want to raise as much money as possible to help fight this devastating disease. Bright Pink is an organization that is working very hard to help people at risk or affected by it. What better way to raise money than by drinking Beauty Bar Vodka cocktails at one of the many Beauty Bar locations around the country.”

Beauty Bar Vodka is made from a small batch process using the finest Dutch grains and de-mineralized soft water from the deepest underground spring in Holland. The Vodka is exceptionally smooth with a superbly clean finish. The five-part distillation process and charcoal treatment results in a unique and subtle character that is exceptionally balanced and smooth.

From New York, Devitt graduated from the University of Florida and returned to the Northeast to open his first business in 1988. He renovated a 1949 stainless steel diner in New Jersey, transported it to Philadelphia, and opened American Diner on the fringe of the University of Pennsylvania campus. A year later he bought an existing diner and adjacent tavern naming it Silk City. Seminal Philadelphia artists such as the Roots, King Britt and Josh Wink got their starts at Silk City. In 1993, Devitt moved back to New York to open the first Beauty Bar in a vintage 1960's hair salon in the East Village. Based on the tremendous success of this location, he decided to take the concept to the West Coast and in 1998, opened in the Mission district of San Francisco. Beauty Bar Hollywood followed in 2000. Devitt also opened Barmacy Lounge, a pharmacy themed lounge in Manhattan and Star Shoes, a vintage shoe store cum dance lounge on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. Devitt continued to expand the brand by opening Beauty Bar locations in downtown Las Vegas in 2005 along with San Diego and Austin in 2006. His most recent Beauty Bar opened in the burgeoning Bushwick neighborhood in Brooklyn in 2009.

New locations are planned in Chicago, Denver, and Portland, OR in early 2010.
