Las Vegas Prudential Executives Receive Industry Honors

Forrest Barbee and Judye Phebus Receive Top Industry Nods from Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors.

Las Vegas, NV, December 19, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Prudential Americana Group corporate broker Forrest Barbee and sales executive Judye Phebus received two of the top five awards at the recent Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors annual President’s Appreciation Dinner. The organization’s annual “Gene Nebeker Award” was given to Barbee and Phebus received its annual Hall of Fame award.

Both are heavily involved with the association. Barbee serves on GLVAR’s board of directors and several committees. He is also a state director for the Nevada Association of Realtors as well as a trustee on two of its state committees. Phebus’ involvement with GLVAR has included volunteering on the board of directors, the political affairs committee, the education committee and the community relations committee.

“These are two individuals who have spent hundreds of hours of their personal time helping GLVAR assist licensed REALTORs in Las Vegas,” said Mark Stark, CEO of Prudential Americana Group. “The association, and the services that are provided to Southern Nevada REALTORs, are better because of their selfless volunteerism.”

The Gene Nebeker Award, which was given to Barbee this year, was created in 1980 in honor of GLVAR member Gene Nebeker. Nebeker served as executive officer of the association from 1969 to 1977. Recipients of the award are chosen for their level of professionalism and service to the association, traits which Nebeker was known for throughout the community.

The association’s Hall of Fame award, which Phebus received, is bestowed annually by past recipients to a member who has been with the organization for at least 15 years, served on at least three of the association’s committees, is a leader in the association and is a leader in the community.

“Forrest Barbee and Judye Phebus are just two of more than a thousand members of our organization that give back to the community both professionally and personally,” said Stark. “It is my honor to work with them every day and encourage others in our organization to follow their examples.”
