UCLA Neurologist to Speak About "Chemo Brain" Jan. 28

Ventura, CA, December 20, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura and the Community Memorial Hospital Cancer Resource Center invite cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers to a free workshop entitled “Chemo Brain” with Lorne Label, MD. The program will take place Thursday, January 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Community Memorial Hospital Board Room, 147 N. Brent St., Ventura, CA 93003.

Forgetfulness and mental fog are sometimes experienced by people who have undergone cancer treatment. Although the symptoms are usually temporary, they can be frustrating and debilitating. Dr. Lorne Label will review the causes and manifestations of “chemo brain” symptoms, current medical research, risk factors, and treatment strategies.

Dr. Label completed his degree in Internal Medicine and Neurology at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, followed by a Clinical Neuromuscular Fellowship at the USC Neuromuscular Center. He is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at UCLA and on staff at the UCLA Neurology Clinic. Dr. Label is the founder of the Brain Longevity Center in Thousand Oaks, which provides an integrative medical approach to memory impairment. The Cancer Resource Center at Community Memorial Hospital offers a variety of services designed to meet the needs of individuals faced with a diagnosis of cancer, as well as providing programs for family members, friends, and the community-at-large.
