Jaikanth Propels TrendSetters to a Fantastic Victory Against Ford XI
Trendsetters, a top Chennai Cricket Team renowned for maintaining a record winning streak is on top of the game once again.
Chennai, India, December 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Trendsetters, a top Chennai Cricket Team renowned for maintaining a high winning streak had not scheduled a match with any well known cricket teams. But the captain and vice-caption of Trendsetter team had a plan in their mind of minds. Captain Thanga and vice-captian Jaikanth who leads the team from the front and protects the winning image decided to practice for the upcoming YICC tournament by the following the tournament rules.
The team was split into two by having only five members(6 players in a team for the YICC tournament)on each side.The overs of the match was also limited to five and every wide ball meant 2 runs to the opponent. Two matches were played, since it was between the Trendsetters team members the atmosphere was cordial and filled with lots of fun. Both the teams were strong and each team won a match. During the end of the second match, Arvind, a team member and co-founder of Trendsetters bestowed with gift of gab, did schedule 12 overs match with Ford XI.
The coin was tossed in the air, Captain Thanga's golden fortune won the toss for him. Trendsetters decided to bat first and compiled a total of 65 and set a target of 66 for Ford XI to win the match. Most of the matches played so far has witnessed at least one six from Bala and this match was not an exception. The other players who batted well are KamalChandran,Thanga, Jaikanth, Girish, Bapu, Arvind, Rajesh and Thilak.
Ford XI began to chase the score and did chase the score handsomely, but only in the final over with 2 balls to spare.Trendsetters did not want to go back home without tasting a win, they called on Ford XI for a second match and they reciprocated.
It was an eight over match, this time Ford XI won the toss and elected to bat first. Thanga bowled a superb line and length and took the wicket of Ford XI's top player. Kamal Chandran held on to his nerves to take a good catch on the boundary line in the over of Thanga. Overall Trendsetters team bowled well and restricted the Ford XI to 45 runs.
Needing 46 to win the match Trendsetters began their chase. Three overs were remaining, Jaikanth and Kamal Chandran were at the crease, 18 runs were required to win. Kamal Chandran did waste some deliveries which literally turned the match in Ford XI's favor, but little did they realize of the match winner standing at the other end. Jaikanth's confidence was clearly visible on the words he spoke to Kamal Chandran "I will take care, don't worry." The very next over Kamal Chandran got out, from there the needed runs were 17 in 9 balls.
As assured by Jaikanth he swung his bat; a herculean pull that carried the ball out of the boundary line, a huge Six, and the match situation changed from there on. Jaikanth, the vice-captain of Trendsetters cooly lead the team to brilliant victory. Trendsetters gave a standing ovation to the match-winner Jaikanth. Like Jaikanth, Trendsetters team have couple of other match winners due to this Trendsetters enjoys a high winning average.
