The main challenges of access, equality and quality in Higher Education in India can only be effectively resolved through distance education. Distance education enables the masses to realize their dream of quality education.
SMU-DE’s mission is “To ensure quality education is accessible, affordable and equally available to all, such that the mode of delivery – distance or campus – becomes irrelevant”. This win by SMU-DE students further reinforces the belief that distance education has reached a stage where it can effectively service the higher education needs of the country without compromise on quality.
Sikkim Manipal University’s Distance Education (SMU-DE) programme has over 3lac students and offers Post Graduate, Degree and Diploma programs across 41 courses in 10 disciplines. SMU-DE was established in 2001 by the Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences. The programs offered by SMU-DE are recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC) of the Government of India.
Only SMU-DE students have access to EduNxt, the eIndia and eRajasthan awards-winning learning system that makes affordable, collaborative, placement-ready learning possible.
