E-Ville Roller Derby Announces the First Jr. Roller Derby League in Canada

E-Ville Roller Derby will be kicking off the first Junior Roller Derby league in Canada this January.

Edmonton, Canada, December 24, 2009 --(PR.com)-- E-Ville Roller Derby and the Canadian Women’s Roller Derby Association are proud to announce the inception of Canada’s first junior roller derby league.

Girls aged 10 – 17 can now register for the first season, to start in mid January. Exhibition games will be held during E-Ville’s monthly home team games.

Practices and games will be held at E-Ville Roller Derby’s new home, the Edmonton Sports Dome (formerly the Golf Dome).

E-Ville Roller Derby believes that the promotion of an active lifestyle is important and that alternative sporting options should be readily available to not just adult women, but younger girls as well. Roller derby is about being stronger, faster, and better; finding your own identity and empowering yourself in a fun, friendly, tolerant atmosphere. What better message for our young generation?
