Recognition By Design Announces Plans for Expansion

St. Louis, MO, December 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- RBD, Recognition By Design, announced today its intention to relocate their corporate offices in order to accommodate restructuring and expansion of staff in its Recognition Communications Group. In the Recognition Industry, this is news. Many in the industry are laying off employees due to cancellation and shrinking sales. So why is RBD expanding? Well, RBD believes it’s because of two key elements of their services that others are not providing; Measurability and Focus.

Ned Durham, a director of RBD, explained, “The Recognition industry is experiencing unprecedented challenges due to cancellation of programs because they have failed to justify their expense. Frankly I don’t think an improving economy is going to change that conclusion, in fact, why do anything that doesn’t return more that it costs? RBD is growing in this climate because we justify our expense and we change attitudes that detract from increased contributions to our client’s bottom line.”

Most Recognition Programs today are not created to encourage exemplary behavior. Instead, they celebrate anniversaries, years of service, and worse… the physical achievement itself. Very few programs value the employee. They simply value the result of their work and that’s the purpose of compensation… not recognition! There is no way you can use cash, points, or merchandise to express sincere appreciation for personal value, there simply isn’t enough cash to do that. If you want a short term program to generate focus on an immediate objective, you can offer a highly perceived Reward value. It may work for the short haul, but there is no residual effect and it is very costly. Our BRAVO Recognition Solution offers a change from the status quo, and encourages improvement that can be objectively measured.

One client was quoted as saying, “If an expense isn’t positively affecting the bottom-line and making us more productive, then it’s no longer an expense… it’s History!” All this is good news to RBD because RBD only provides solutions, not programs. Durham was quick to add, “These are solutions firmly built on a foundation of measurable improvement and focuses beyond simple appreciation to increase productivity.”

It is easy to see why RBD is expanding, Durham’s enthusiasm is contagious, a little like a man on a mission, he cannot help but add other reasons for effective employee recognition, “RBD differentiates itself from it’s competitors in two ways; by making “measurability” the foundation of effective Recognition solution, and by recognizing that it’s an employee’s positive behavior that is the real key to long-term success.” Reward the behaviors that beget success, not the success itself and that is the key that allows lasting positive outcomes.

RBD offers other keys to creating healthy productive business cultures, including: Supervisor Training, Custom, often symbolic, Awards, and consistent and relevant communication of each employee’s exemplary behavior.
