Site includes a media center featuring the latest videos and podcasts and blog where NEI staff, members of the Governing Council, and Economic Advisors will share information about the work NEI is doing and its impact in the region.

Detroit, MI, January 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Today, the New Economy Initiative (NEI) announced its new Web site, www.neweconomyinitiative.org.

Visit the new site to learn about NEI, see what NEI grantees are working on, and engage in conversation on the NEI Blog.

The new site includes a media center featuring the latest videos and podcasts from NEI. The site also features the newly developed NEI Blog. The NEI Blog is a conversational space for NEI staff, members of the Governing Council, and Economic Advisors to share information about the work NEI is doing and its impact in the region.

The NEI blog also will be utilized to inform readers about new research, best practices and provide commentary from local and national experts on the challenges and opportunities facing southeast Michigan.

The New Economy Initiative for Southeast Michigan (NEI) is the one of the largest philanthropic initiatives focused on regional economic development in the country, accelerating the transition of southeast Michigan to an innovation-based economy that expands opportunities for all. Ten national, regional and local foundations have committed $100 million to this unprecedented eight-year initiative, including the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan (Detroit), the Max M. and Marjorie S. The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan is a permanent community endowment built by gifts from thousands of individuals and organizations committed to the future of southeast Michigan. The Foundation works to improve the region’s quality of life by connecting those who care with causes that matter. The Foundation supports a wide variety of activities benefiting education, arts and culture, health, human services, community development and civic affairs.
