Casey Gerry Attorneys Lauded by Local Business Publication

San Diego, CA, January 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The San Diego Daily Transcript, a leading source of San Diego business and legal news since 1886, has recognized two Casey Gerry attorneys as leaders for 2010, naming senior partner David S. Casey, Jr. a “Top Influential” and Jessica Klarer Pride one of San Diego's “Outstanding Young Attorneys.”

Each year, the publication honors “Top Influentials” -- prominent San Diegans in the major industry sectors that sustain the local economy. The list's recipients were carefully selected from hundreds of nominations submitted by readers and announced in a special print publication, profiled online and will be recognized with a special event in their honor.

Additionally, The Transcript conducts a peer nominated process to determine the best young attorneys in San Diego County, based on the following criteria: Hardworking and Detail-Oriented, Knowledgeable and Enthusiastic, Ethical and Professional, and Committed to Furthering the Interests of Justice in Society. The Top Young Attorneys -- all of whom have worked in the legal profession for seven years or less -- were recently profiled in the Daily Transcript.

Both Casey and Pride are active and involved -- both professionally and in the community. Casey, who has practiced for more than 30 years as a personal injury attorney -- specializing in serious injuries and wrongful death litigation -- was appointed by the Sen. Dianne Feinstein last year to chair the statewide effort for judicial selection of Federal Court Judges, U.S. Attorneys and U.S. Marshals. He has received numerous accolades and honors for his vision and hard work, most recently the Consumer Watchdog's “Lifetime Achievement” and the American Bar Association's “Pursuit of Justice” awards. In addition, The Consumer Attorneys of San Diego annually presents the Perpetual Consumer Advocate Award in Casey's name.

A former president of the Assocation of Trial Lawyers of America (now AAJ), Casey is especially known for his work in organizing the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund and for his pro bono involvement in assisting victims of 9/11. Additionally, he represented former California Governor Gray Davis in successful tobacco litigation, helping to achieve a recovery of $25 billion for the state, and is winding up 21 years of involvement in litigation resulting from the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Pride has contributed her time and talents to events and organizations such Habitat for Humanity, Taste of the Nation and Wills for Heroes, and is especially involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters, a youth mentoring program. On a professional level, her peers recently voted her to board positions for the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and the San Diego County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division. She is also on the board of governors for the New Lawyers Division of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), and a member of Lawyers Club of San Diego and La Raza Lawyers Association.
