Strong Growth in China Centrifugal Pumps Market Despite Limited Customer Awareness and Product Knowledge

Shanghai, China, January 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The study finds specificities in the Chinese CP market resulting from the country’s recent fast economic development. Fast growing needs for CP in several sectors have led to the commercialization of very low quality pumps purchased by customers with little knowledge of the product. In this RMB 20 Mn market growing more than 10% a year and largely unaffected by the global downturn, the accessible market for foreign suppliers is now opening wide opportunities. However, technical and contextual input with customers remains a crucial purchase factor that needs to be addressed by high-end suppliers.

Best opportunities are found in the petrochemicals and power industries, and in water applications. Major customers in these sectors are SOEs and local governments, often seeking long-term partnerships based on direct contact with suppliers. Other customers are construction companies and manufacturers of steel, chemicals and light industry products, sectors where a large amount of low-end products dominate the market, despite upward quality trends and a gradually improving regulatory environment.
