Nurse Next Door Supports Canadian Olympic Athlete Alex Harvey
Homecare provider encouraging other local small businesses to follow suit.
Vancouver, Canada, January 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- While multi-million dollar Olympic sponsorship might be out of the reach of most local small businesses, Nurse Next Door, Canada’s fastest growing homecare franchise system, has found a unique way to support a Canadian Olympic athlete and is encouraging other local small businesses to do the same.
Nurse Next Door is proud to announce that the company is supporting Canadian Olympic cross-country skier, Alex Harvey. Nurse Next Door was able to leverage connections in the local community to secure, purchase and donate tickets to 3 of Harvey’s events so his loved ones could see him live his dream.
“I am tremendously grateful of Nurse Next Door for their show of support,” said Harvey. “Without their generosity some of the people closest to me might have missed the opportunity to be a part of my dream. This is a great way for a small business to get involved in the Vancouver Olympics and I do hope it inspires other local companies to do the same.”
Wanting to support a Canadian athlete, Nurse Next Door Co-Founder Ken Sim knew leveraging the local connections the company has built would be a unique way to do so. With a little creativity and a few phone calls, Nurse Next Door was able to hand Alex tickets to 3 of his events.
“We’re thrilled to help Alex and support him in the pursuit of his dream,” said Nurse Next Door Co-Founder, Ken Sim. “We’re obviously cheering on Canadian athletes at the upcoming winter Olympics and this was a great way for us to show at least one of our athletes our support. I certainly hope other small companies in British Columbia use this idea as inspiration to get involved in supporting Canada’s amateur athletes at the Olympic Games.”
