Vail Gay Ski Week Not Just for Skiers

Vail Gay Ski Week presented by Rocky Mountain Vacation Rentals will be held Jan. 27-31, 2010, in Vail, Colorado. Vail Gay Ski Week offers unique activities such as the Vail Splash Club (Vail's first GLBT photo competition), Après Ski Socials, parties, and more. By removing the posh vibe and replacing it with a home-grown, local, and fun attitude that encompasses the “epic” experience that Vail provides, Vail Gay Ski Week is able to differentiate itself from other gay ski weeks.

Vail, CO, January 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The organizers for Vail Gay Ski Week 2010 released today a schedule for non-skier activities. Guests may participate in activities such as ice-skating, spa treatments, sleigh rides, and shopping sprees as a part of Vail Gay Ski Week- regardless of their skiing (or lack thereof) abilities. The event, scheduled for January 27 through January 31, 2010, in Vail, Colo. will provide attendees affordable options, according to founder Tommy Z. Hoffman. “Vail Gay Ski Week gives visitors the opportunity not only to ski, but also to enjoy the best of the Denver bar scene, with affordable options- all the while giving back to the GLBT Community,” he said.

One day time activity organizers have prepared is the “Inside Vail Passport” promotion. By partnering with local shops, restaurants, bars, and art galleries, organizers have created a tour of Vail where visitors may receive stamps at designated locations, then enter to win a Pride Cruise. Organizers have also teamed with the Sorrento Spa to host a Wine and Robe Party, and the Vail Plaza for the Vail Splash Club, a new competition for the best singles and group photos, located in the Pool and Hot Tub area of the Plaza Hotel. “The Sorrento Spa Wine and Robe party is free, if I weren’t busy working I would make this my first stop!” stated event coordinator, Cali Adkisson. Additionally, Vail offers public ice skating indoors at the Dobson Ice Arena, outdoors at the Arrabelle, sleigh rides, and plenty of dining options including the “Fabulous 5 of Fine Dining” who have each made unique specials available to Vail Gay Ski Week registrants.

For those interested in learning to ski, Vail Resorts is offering Vail Gay Ski Week registrants a 10% discount on Ski School for beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners. Registration for Vail Gay Ski Week is free and may be completed at VailGaySkiWeek.com. By registering, participants will receive a welcome packet that includes free gear from sponsors, the Inside Vail Passport Guide, as well as access to discounts, specials, and more at participating Vail Gay Ski Week Locations.

Non-skiers can also look forward to the signature Vail Gay Ski Week parties on Friday and Saturday nights. The Colorado Beer Bust, to be held at the Donovan Pavilion, includes beer from Colorado breweries, a western-cowboy theme, and DJ Sammy Jo- Scissor Sisters Tour DJ. Next, on Saturday, DJ Guillaume will be spinning for his signature POPular Party, and a dress code will be enforced. Both parties are for all members of the GLBT Community as well as open to the general public. “All are invited to attend, you don’t want to miss these parties!” stated organizer Janyce Brandon.
