Continental Disc Corporation Initiates Green Packaging Effort Utilizing Recycled Materials

Liberty, MO, January 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Continental Disc Corporation has instituted a plan to maximize the amount of recycled material used in their product packaging and shipping containers. Currently, recycled material is being used on Continental Disc Corporation’s popular ICON rupture disc and SANITRX® rupture disc product packaging, but plans are underway to replace other existing product packaging methods with more environmentally friendly options by March of 2010.

Previously, Continental Disc Corporation employed Styrofoam Packing Peanuts and foam inserts for shipping product to customers. Now, with ICON and SANITRX rupture discs, Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG) containers have replaced the foam insert and cardboard box combination and crushed recycled paper has replaced the Styrofoam Packing Peanuts. Beginning March 2010, all ULTRX®, MINTRX®, STAR X®, LOTRX®, MICRO X® and Flat Seat Composite rupture disc lines (in 1 - 4” sizes) will be shipped in this more environmentally friendly, non-toxic packaging.

Established in 1965, Continental Disc Corporation is a leading manufacturer of rupture disc devices for a variety of process industries, including chemical, petrochemical, petroleum refining, pharmaceutical, beverage, food and dairy, aerospace, gases, electronics, and other markets worldwide.
